The Summit on Cancer Health Disparities 2025 (SCHD25) is a premier annual event focused on addressing cancer health disparities. The conference serves to bridge research and practice, offering practical strategies to improve cancer care delivery and outcomes. SCHD25 will unite oncology professionals, researchers, policymakers, and other stakeholders looking to address factors contributing to cancer health disparities with evidence-based interventions. This event features a policy debate "Crisis in Care: Can the U.S. Find a Sustainable Model for Affordable Healthcare?"

Health Insurance in Nepal – Current Challenges and Opportunities

Binaytara hosted an in-person policy debate on March 10, 2025 at Durbar Hall at Hotel Yak and Yeti, Kathmandu, Nepal as part of Binaytara's advocacy efforts to promote equitable healthcare access. This event was held in partnership with Swasthya Khabar Foundation. Thank you to Swasthya Khabar Foundation, a Nepal-based organization committed to public health awareness and policy through journalism, research, and advocacy. The foundation runs Swasthya Khabar, a leading health news platform.

OVERVIEW:

The panel session on "Health Insurance in Nepal – Current Challenges and Opportunities" is a pivotal element of Binaytara's advocacy efforts to promote equitable healthcare access. This session aims to facilitate constructive dialogue among key stakeholders, including healthcare policy experts, bureaucrats, politicians, and patient advocates, to identify actionable strategies and solutions for improving the health insurance landscape in Nepal.

Through a structured policy debate format, the session will explore critical issues such as affordability, accessibility, coverage gaps, and the integration of private and public health insurance systems. Panelists will also discuss innovative approaches to enhance the sustainability and effectiveness of health insurance schemes, particularly in rural and underserved areas.

A key outcome of this session will be the development of consensus statements and policy recommendations. These will summarize the shared viewpoints and proposed strategies derived from the discussion, serving as a roadmap for stakeholders and decision-makers to address existing challenges and seize opportunities within Nepal's health insurance system.

This initiative underscores Binaytara's commitment to advancing healthcare advocacy by fostering collaboration, driving policy change, and ensuring that healthcare reforms prioritize the needs of all citizens.
