Binaytara Education & Event Planning Internship


Internship Duration: Six months to One year

Location: Bellevue, WA

Internship Type: Full-time, In-person

Eligibility: Must have graduated with a bachelor's degree or master's degree within the last two years.


Travel Required: This internship requires travel to conference sites. On average, interns are expected to travel approximately every three-weeks for the conferences or seven to eight times during the six-month internship. This travel includes weekends and overnight stay. Travel and lodging expenses are reimbursed per company policy.


Ability to work from office: This internship requires interns to be present in the office full-time when not traveling for conferences. Interns can expect to spend long hours at their desks.


Ability to lift up to 50 pounds: Interns traveling to conferences will need to transport supplies and equipment to event venues. This internship requires ability to lift suitcases, banners, and other equipment.

About the Internship

The Binaytara education & event planning internship is a six-month, full-time learning experience provided to individuals who recently graduated (within two years of graduation) from bachelor's or master's programs in adult education, healthcare education, or related fields from a US University.

This internship is suitable for those individuals who want to pursue a career in adult education, accredited continuing education, event management, or plan fundraising events. It is also suitable for those who wish to broaden their knowledge and skills in:

• healthcare provider continuing education,

• health-related program planning,

• educational activity planning,

• event planning,

• database and record keeping,

• volunteer coordination,

• leadership, communication, collaboration, and engagement with stakeholders.


As a Binaytara education & event planning intern, under the mentorship of our dedicated staff, you will help to plan and implement continuing education activities for physicians, nurses, and pharmacists.

Goals:

• To provide a practical environment for interns to learn, gain knowledge & develop skills on various aspects of planning and implementing accredited continuing education programs for physicians, nurses, and pharmacists.

• To utilize interns' skills and experience in building and supporting the organization's existing and future projects.

Learning experience and activities: This internship consists of two major learning experiences:

1.) Education activity planning and implementation, and

2.) Meeting logistics management

Learning Experience 1: Continuing Medical, Pharmacy, and Nursing Education

Intern will work closely with Binaytara’s continuing education team to learn how healthcare providers’ educational needs are identified, how programs are planned, what requirements need to be met to qualify for accreditation, and how programs are evaluated, etc.

Interns are assigned five to seven in-person conferences to manage as the primary faculty communication lead, giving them opportunity to communicate and build relationships with some of the top oncology providers in the country. Interns also work closely with their primary mentor to ensure compliance with continuing education requirements record keeping, report writing and presenting reports.

Learning Experience 2: Meeting Logistics Management

Interns will engage in pre-event planning, participate in the logistics planning for upcoming conferences, communicate with venues for site selection, banquet event orders, audio-visual needs, layout and setup, etc. Additionally, interns will assist the team with vendor coordination, attendee management, and support attendee, vendor, and faculty on-site. Interns will participate in volunteer coordination for various events, with an emphasis on leadership and team management.
