Position Summary
The Director of Oncology Education & Scientific Affairs provides medical and scientific leadership for Binaytara’s core oncology education efforts — CME conferences for healthcare professionals and CancerAlly — ensuring content is clinically accurate, evidence-based, and genuinely useful to the audiences it serves. Reporting to the President and CEO, this person translates clinical oncology expertise into strong educational programming and the grant proposals that fund it.
This is a hands-on role combining strategic judgment with direct work in content review, scientific writing, and program development. The ideal candidate is a physician or PharmD with oncology-relevant clinical or scientific experience, strong written communication skills, and genuine interest in education — for clinicians and for patients.
Focus is on medical and scientific program leadership, not direct patient care.
Core Responsibilities
CME Activities (in-person and digital) — Professional Education
- Identify clinical practice gaps and emerging evidence; translate into needs assessments, learning objectives, and conference agendas.
- Collaborate with conference chairs and scientific committees to identify faculty and refine topics.
- Peer review presentations for scientific accuracy, balance, and relevance.
- Implement content-review and disclosure/mitigation processes with accreditation staff; use learner outcomes to improve future programs.
- Work with marketing/communications staff on format and distribution while owning clinical substance.
CancerAlly (Binaytara’s proprietary gamified app for patient education)
- Set the clinical and scientific direction for CancerAlly content aimed at patients and caregivers.
- Ensure patient-facing material is accurate, appropriately plain-language, and clearly distinguishes established practice from emerging or preliminary findings.
- Engage clinical contributors and review submitted content for medical accuracy before publication.
Independent Medical Education Grants
- Write and lead scientific development of IME proposals that fund CME activities and CancerAlly courses.
- Partner with grants, education, and finance teams on budgets, timelines, and deliverables.
- Monitor funded programs’ commitments and lead reconciliation, and contribute to outcomes reporting.
Required Qualifications
- Professional education: MD, DO, MBBS, or equivalent recognized medical degree; or a PharmD. Equivalent international qualifications considered.
- Oncology-relevant background: substantial direct clinical oncology experience OR a demonstrated record of oncology-focused CME/education content development.
- Scientific judgment: ability to critically evaluate oncology literature and clinical evidence, with the judgment to bring in subject-matter experts when needed.
- Scientific communication: excellent written and verbal English; able to write clearly for both professional and patient audiences.
- Leadership and execution: experience managing educational programs or content initiatives, meeting deadlines, and maintaining accuracy under competing priorities.
- Work location and travel: able to work in person in Bellevue, Washington, and travel per the schedule below, with reasonable accommodation where applicable.
Preferred Qualifications
- Specialty training or certification in medical oncology, hematology/oncology, or oncology pharmacy.
- Experience with IME grant applications, accredited CE programs, or educational outcomes reporting.
- Experience writing or reviewing patient-facing health content specifically.
- A record of CME faculty development, conference programming, or digital health-education platforms.

- Quality, competitiveness, and timely delivery of IME grant proposals and funded activities.
