Funding Opportunities
Binaytara Research Award Challenge

Overview
Binaytara offers competitive Research Awards to support innovative projects that advance cancer care. Submit your research abstract for one of our current Binaytara Research Award Opportunities.
Our expert abstract committee will review abstracts and invite finalists to submit a research proposal and compete in an Impact Pitch: Research Grant Challenge - a Shark Tank–style live competition where early-career investigators take the stage to present bold, practice-changing research ideas. A panel of expert reviewers selects the most promising projects, and the audience votes to decide which proposals earn a Binaytara Research Award. Fast-paced, high-energy, and inspiring, the Impact Pitch celebrates the next generation of innovators transforming cancer care.
Current Binaytara Research Award Opportunities:
$25,000 IMPLEMENTATION SCIENCE RESEARCH AWARDS
- Submit your abstract by December 15, 2025 for presentation at the Summit on Cancer Health Disparities
$50,000 SHAJI KUMAR HEMATOLOGY RESEARCH AWARDS

How It Works
Two-Step Application Process
Step 1: Submit an Abstract
- Submit your abstract by December 15, 2025 to qualify for consideration.
- All abstracts, including case reports, must address health disparities and health equity to align with the mission of the Summit on Cancer Health Disparities 2026 (SCHD26).
- Only first authors of accepted abstracts are eligible to advance to Step 2.
Step 2: If Selected, Submit a Full Research Proposal
- The Abstract and Awards Committee will review all abstracts and invite a select number of first authors to submit detailed research proposals for funding consideration.
- Finalists will present their projects live during the Impact Pitch session at SCHD26 in Bellevue, WA (March 27–28, 2026).
- A panel of reviewers and the audience will determine which proposals receive Binaytara Implementation Science Research Award funding.
- At least two projects will be selected for funding, each receiving up to $25,000 to support project completion.
Note: Acceptance of an abstract does not guarantee qualification for the Impact Pitch. Selected finalists will be contacted directly and invited to submit a full research award proposal. Only first authors will be eligible for selection.
