Aim and Scope
The International Journal of Cancer Care and Delivery (IJCCD), the official publication of the Binaytara Foundation (BTF), is a peer-reviewed online journal operating on an open-access platform (CC BY-SA). Its primary focus lies in disseminating a wide range of scientific articles in the field of oncology. The journal is committed to informing and educating clinicians and healthcare leaders about the latest research in cancer care and innovative, sustainable, and scalable solutions addressing challenges that hinder effective care.
IJCCD welcomes diverse scientific contributions, including original research, review articles, short reports, guidelines, conference coverage, case reports, opinions/commentaries, letters to the editor and editorials.
Editorial Policies
The International Journal of Cancer Care and Delivery (IJCCD) is an Open Access Journal. Authors retain copyright to their articles under the same Creative Common License as the Journal - (CC BY-SA). Binaytara Foundation and the editors accept no responsibility for the contents and opinions expressed by the contributors. IJCCD supports and adheres to the “Principles of Transparency and Best Practice in Scholarly Publishing” (a joint statement by COPE, DOAJ, WAME, and OASPA).
Authorship
All submissions must ensure that all authors who contributed to the work are duly acknowledged and the published author list accurately reflects their respective contributions. Contributors to the paper who do not meet the ICMJE Criteria for Authorship should be acknowledged in the Acknowledgment section. The journal adheres to the ICMJE authorship requirements, which include the following four criteria:
(i) Making significant contributions to the conception or design of the work or the acquisition, analysis, or interpretation of data; AND
(ii) Drafting the work or critically revising it for important intellectual content; AND
(iii) Granting final approval for the version to be published; AND
(iv) Accepting accountability for all aspects of the work, ensuring thorough investigation and resolution of questions related to the accuracy or integrity of any part of the work. Each author must individually fulfill conditions (i), (ii), (iii), and (iv).
The corresponding author is responsible for communication with the journal throughout the submission, review, and publication process. They are also tasked with ensuring that all authors have endorsed the final version of the manuscript and providing contact information for readers who may have questions or comments about the research.
Acknowledgments
Authors should acknowledge any support for manuscript preparation not covered in the author contribution or funding sections. Examples include administrative or technical support. Authors must ensure that individuals or organizations mentioned in acknowledgments have granted permission to be recognized in the publication.
Conflicts of Interest
All authors must disclose any relationships perceived as potential conflicts of interest. They should furnish comprehensive details regarding relevant financial interests, activities, relationships, and affiliations (other than those affiliations listed on the manuscript’s title page). This encompasses, but is not limited to, employment, affiliations, received or pending funding and grants, consultancies, honoraria or payments, speaker bureaus, stock ownership or options, expert testimony, royalties, planned, pending, or issued patents, and donations of medical equipment. Authors with no conflicts of interest, including relevant financial interests, activities, relationships, and affiliations, are required to state so in their disclosures.
Funding
Funding received for the work described in the paper or for the publication itself must be declared within the publication and should include the grant number and funding agency.
Clinical trials
Clinical trials submitted to our journal must be registered in a public registry before submission, with the trial registry number included in the article. Examples of registries include ClinicalTrials.gov, the Cochrane Renal Group Registry, the International Standard Randomized Controlled Trial Number Registry, and the European Clinical Trials Database.
Ethical Policies
Published research must adhere to internationally accepted standards for research practice and reporting. Manuscripts may be rejected if editors determine that the research was not conducted within an appropriate ethical framework or if authors misrepresented the ethics declarations. Concerns raised post-publication may result in a correction, retraction, or expression of concern following COPE guidelines.
Research on Humans (including research on identifiable human material and data)
Submissions must specify the local ethics committee that approved the study and its decision reference number (or confirm exemption). This type of research requires participants’ informed consent in compliance with the Helsinki Declaration.
IJCCD supports ICMJE recommendations on the protection of research participants. Authors should avoid including research participants’ identifying information. If identification is crucial, written consent must be obtained.
Informed Consent
For identifiable images of human participants, authors must state obtaining informed consent for publication. Patient anonymity is paramount, whether using original or reproduced content. Material lacking appropriate consent will be removed.
Misconduct
IJCCD treats potential misconduct seriously. Concerns about a published article will be addressed, and corrections or retractions will be issued, if necessary, following COPE Guidelines. Ongoing matters may be communicated through an Expression of Concern. Suspected misconduct may involve sharing submission details with third parties, including authors’ institutions and ethics committees.
Plagiarism
IJCCD employs Crossref Similarity Check, powered by iThenticate, for plagiarism detection at the time of manuscript submission. If plagiarism is detected, the editorial board may reject the article or request corrections from the authors.
Image integrity
IJCCD encourages the use of original images and materials. If the submitted manuscript includes third-party copyright material(s), authors must obtain permission from the relevant copyright holder for reuse, including any associated licensing fees. Authors are personally responsible for checking and complying with copyright and usage information to prevent infringement, and they will be held liable for any such infringements.
Peer-review Process
Peer review is the system used to assess the quality of a manuscript before it is published. The editorial office conducts preliminary assessments of submitted manuscripts to ensure adherence to submission guidelines, editorial policies, and ethical standards. Following internal checks, the Editor-in-Chief evaluates each submission, determining whether to proceed with peer review, and may appoint a handling Editor. Handling Editors supervise the peer-review process for manuscripts within their expertise, engaging well-qualified and current reviewers.
All articles undergo external peer review, typically by at least two experts in the field. Reviewers assess manuscripts based on various criteria, including scientific validity, originality, significance, methodology, and interpretation of results. They provide feedback to the authors, offering suggestions for improvement. Reviewers are expected to maintain confidentiality and avoid conflicts of interest, disclosing any potential biases. A final decision on publication acceptance is reached after the peer-review process.
IJCCD Editors must recuse themselves from participating in the review process of any paper with a potential or actual competing interest. If an IJCCD editor submits a manuscript, an independent Editor will be assigned to handle all editorial tasks, including the peer review process.
Corrections, Retractions, and Editorial Expressions of Concern
The IJCCD upholds the integrity of its publications and follows specific procedures for corrections, retractions, and expressions of concern.
Corrections
Errors in published papers will be addressed through a correction. The Editor-in-Chief will decide when to inform readers about a previous error, and the correction will be presented as a new article, citing the original.
Retractions
Retractions occur when severe errors invalidate conclusions, or publication malpractice is evident. The process includes publishing a retraction note signed by authors and the chief editor in a subsequent issue. The original article remains but is clearly labeled as “retracted.”
Editorial Expressions of Concern
If substantial doubt arises about the honesty or integrity of a submitted or published article, editors may issue an expression of concern. This is done if an investigation proves inconclusive but strong indicators persist. The expression of concern is linked to the relevant article.
Data Sharing Policy
We recommend that authors disclose and offer any data and materials supporting the findings or analyses presented in their paper. It is important to note that data sharing should adhere to ethical standards, ensuring it does not infringe upon the protection of human subjects or violate valid ethical, privacy, or security concerns.
Authors are recommended to deposit their data in a reputable data repository capable of generating a persistent digital identifier, such as a digital object identifier (DOI), and implementing a robust long-term preservation plan.
Furthermore, authors are advised to include a data availability statement (DAS) within the article manuscript, positioning it before the ‘References’ section. This statement should provide details on where the data associated with the paper can be located and instructions on how it can be accessed.
Appeal Process
Authors can engage in the appeal process to address editorial decisions regarding their manuscripts at any stage. Authors should submit a rebuttal letter to the editor responsible for their manuscript to initiate an appeal. This letter should articulate the grounds for the appeal, offering a detailed, point-by-point explanation of why the authors disagree with the decision.
The editor will carefully assess the appeal; if granted, additional evaluation of the manuscript may be assigned to an external reviewer. Subsequently, the editor will make a final decision on the manuscript. It is important to note that the decision reached during this appeal process will be definitive.
Advertising Policy
IJCCD provides digital advertising opportunities for life science companies, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders. It is important to emphasize that article selection, editorial review, peer review, and publication processes are independent of advertisers or program sponsors.
IJCCD does not endorse the product or the claims made in the advertisement. The editorial and review processes maintain a strict separation from advertising influences.
Submission Fee
There is no fee to submit a manuscript to the International Journal of Cancer Care and Delivery (IJCCD).
