Two competitive awards will be granted to outstanding early-career investigators whose work demonstrates scientific merit, clinical relevance, and potential impact on the future of cancer care.

Award Focus

Projects should align with the principles of precision oncology and molecular targeted strategies, including:

Genomics-driven cancer treatment and biomarker development
Personalized and targeted therapeutic approaches

Innovative diagnostics such as liquid biopsy
Strategies improving patient outcomes through individualized care

Application Pathway

1. Abstract Submission (Precision Oncology Summit)

Applicants must submit or be listed as an author on an abstract (completed or ongoing research) submitted to the 6th Binaytara Precision Oncology Summit. Submit your abstract by July 15, 2026

2. Research Proposal Submission

Authors (first author or co-author) of accepted abstracts who meet eligibility criteria will be invited to submit a separate research proposal for the award.
The proposal may expand upon or differ from the submitted abstract
Only one proposal per applicant is permitted
Proposals will be evaluated based on innovation, feasibility, and clinical impact

3. Impact Pitch at the Summit

Selected finalists will present their proposals live during Binaytara’s signature Impact Pitch Session—a one-of-its-kind, Shark Tank–inspired research competition where finalists present their ideas live before expert judges.

This high-visibility session highlights bold, innovative concepts and provides a unique platform for emerging leaders in oncology research to gain recognition and feedback from national experts.

Eligibility

Applicants must meet all of the following criteria:

Must be an author (first author or co-author) on an accepted abstract at the 6th Precision Oncology Summit
Must be one of the following:

Hematology/Oncology fellow
Post-doctoral researcher
Early-career oncologist (within 10 years of fellowship completion)

Funding and Expectations

Two competitive awards of $25,000 each
No institutional overhead or indirect costs allowed
Funds must be used solely for research-related expenses
Awardees must acknowledge Binaytara support in all resulting publications and presentations
Award recipients will be expected to present progress or outcomes at a future Binaytara Precision Oncology Summit
