Expanding access to life-saving cancer care in Janakpur and beyond.
Cancer doesn’t stop at borders and neither does Binaytara’s commitment to care. As part of our Global Oncology Programs, we’re expanding access to life-saving cancer care in Nepal through the Binaytara Health Clinic in Janakpur, women’s health initiatives, oncology training, and community outreach.

Since 2018, the Binaytara Health Clinic has been a vital source of cancer care in Janakpur, Nepal. The clinic provides essential services such as screenings, diagnostics, and chemotherapy, reducing the need for patients to travel 8–10 hours to reach specialized care. Weekly tumor boards connect local providers with US oncology experts, ensuring patients benefit from international expertise.

At the same time, the clinic underscores the urgent need for the upcoming 200-bed comprehensive Binaytara Cancer Hospital, which will expand access to radiation oncology, surgical oncology, and advanced treatment services for millions across Nepal and Northern India.

Women in Nepal face significant barriers to timely cancer care. To address these disparities, Binaytara launched the Center for Women’s Cancer Access and Advocacy (CWCAA). This initiative delivers breast, cervical, and oral cancer screenings, expands access to treatment, and builds advocacy networks with local and international experts to ensure women’s voices and health needs are prioritized.
Since 2014, Binaytara has organized free health camps across Janakpur, providing general health checkups and cancer screenings. More than 1,000 women were screened for cervical cancer in the very first program. In 2025, four new camps will extend these services, offering breast, cervical, and oral cancer screenings to underserved communities.
Strengthening the healthcare workforce is critical for sustainable cancer care. Volunteer nurses from the US provide monthly oncology nurse training sessions for staff at the Binaytara Health Clinic. Led by Judy Delismon and international experts, this program equips local nurses with specialized oncology skills and builds long-term professional capacity in Nepal’s healthcare system.
The Binaytara Global Health & Health Disparities Internship Program develops the next generation of leaders in global oncology. With a strong focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion, interns gain hands-on experience in Janakpur and Bellevue, contributing to health disparities research, CME program development, and direct patient engagement. This program builds future healthcare leaders equipped to reduce cancer disparities worldwide.
Each year, over 22,000 new cancer cases are diagnosed in Nepal, yet more than two-thirds of patients die due to late diagnosis and lack of treatment access. Before Binaytara’s presence in Janakpur, patients in Madhesh Province endured long journeys, linguistic barriers, and isolation from family support during care.
By sustaining the Binaytara Health Clinic and building the future 200-bed Binaytara Cancer Hospital, we are creating a comprehensive oncology ecosystem in Nepal. Through education, outreach, training, and equitable care delivery, our mission is clear: to make cancer care accessible, affordable, and equitable for every patient.
