Biography

Amena Shahabuddin, MPAS, PA-C, is a board-certified physician assistant in the Harold C. Simmons Comprehensive Cancer Center at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She completed her Master of Physician Assistant Studies in 2017 from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. She practiced in the Emergency Department at Texas Tech University Health Science Center of El Paso for three years, during which she developed a passion for oncologic and hematologic medicine. She began her career at UT Southwestern on the inpatient Bone Marrow Transplant service. From there, she combined her experience and passion for emergency medicine and oncology to join the Simmons Acute Care clinic, where she managed a number of oncologic emergencies, supported patients during their treatment. She is now a member of the Melanoma/Sarcoma team where she cares for patients with a focus on cutaneous malignancies and sarcoma.
