Erika Maestas, MD

Biography

Erika C. Maestas, MD, earned her bachelor’s degrees in Biology and Spanish and her Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of New Mexico. She completed her Internal Medicine residency at Loyola University Medical Center, followed by a Hematology and Medical Oncology fellowship at the University of New Mexico Comprehensive Cancer Center. Dr. Maestas is an Associate Professor in the Division of Hematology/Oncology at the University of New Mexico and a medical oncologist specializing in gastrointestinal malignancies. A New Mexico native, her clinical and research interests focus on improving outcomes for patients with gastrointestinal cancers and expanding access to high-quality cancer care across the state.
