Gabriela Soriano Hobbs, MD

Biography

Dr. Gabriela Hobbs is the clinical director of the leukemia service at Massachusetts General Hospital and an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School in Boston, MA. She was born and raised in Mexico City and moved to the United States for college. She completed her undergraduate degree in biotechnology and psychology at Tufts University and attended medical school at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York. She completed residency training in internal medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, MA and completed fellowship training in Hematology and Oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer center, in New York, Dr. Hobbs joined the faculty at Massachusetts General Hospital in 2014 where she established an MPN clinic and research program. Dr. Hobbs leads multiple investigator-initiated clinical trials in MPNs as well as non-interventional trials assessing outcomes of patients with MPN. Dr. Hobbs serves on several National Cancer Care Network committees. She is on the ASH minority recruitment initiative subcommittee to help recruit and retain diverse trainees to the field of hematology. She mentors high school and medical students, residents and fellows in their training at MGH, through Harvard programs and ASH minority medical student and resident programs.
