Biography

Dr. Hira Shaikh is a hematologist-oncologist specializing in plasma cell disorders and cellular therapies. She is an Assistant Professor at the University of Iowa, where she focuses on the management of multiple myeloma, amyloidosis, and the application of novel immunotherapies, including CAR T-cell therapy. She completed her medical residency from Pittscurgh and hematology oncology fellowship training from Cincinnati. Her clinical and research interests center on improving outcomes for patients with plasma cell malignancies through innovative therapeutic approaches, biomarker-driven strategies, and translational research. She has a particular interest in cellular therapy optimization and blood based MRD driven management of myeloma. Dr. Shaikh has contributed to national and international efforts in myeloma and cellular therapy through clinical research, collaborative studies, and scientific presentations. Additionally, she has contributed to the ASH AL amyloidosis guidelines, which were published earlier this year
