John Kang, MD, PhD

Biography

Dr. Kang is a physician-data scientist who is dual-boarded in radiation oncology and clinical informatics. He specializes in the treatment of lung cancer and thoracic malignancies. He is the University of Washington Department of Radiation Oncology biomedical informatics lead. Dr. Kang practices at UWMC and the Fred Hutch Cancer Center - Proton Therapy. His research interest is in AI in oncology, with a focus on using minimally supervised learning and natural language processing to extract information from structured and unstructured data.
