Lara McKean Basté, MD

Biography

Lara N. McKean Basté, MD, earned her medical degree from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona in Spain. She completed her internship at Yale New Haven Hospital, her general surgery residency at Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans, and a fellowship in Colon and Rectal Surgery at Oregon Health & Science University. Dr. McKean Basté is an Assistant Professor in the Division of General and GI Surgery at the University of New Mexico. She specializes in colorectal surgery and has clinical interests in complex robotic surgery, colorectal cancer, pelvic floor disorders, and improving access to surgical care for patients across New Mexico.
