Biography
Dr. Lawrence Rice is Chief of Hematology, Dept. of Medicine, Houston Methodist Hospital, and Professor of Medicine, Weill Cornell Medical College. For more than 20 years, he was Hematology Program Director and Director of the medical student Heme-Onc course at Baylor. He has received numerous Teacher of the Year, Educator Hall of Fame, and Best Doctor awards. His close to 200 peer-reviewed publications and book chapters cover diverse hematologic topics as anemia, iron metabolism, erythropoietin, thrombocytopenias (immune, thrombotic, heparin-induced), thrombosis and anticoagulation.
