Binaytara has selected 103 exceptional abstracts from researchers across 32 countries for presentation at the Summit on Cancer Health Disparities 2026 (SCHD26), highlighting innovative, equity-driven solutions aimed at reducing global disparities in cancer care.
Binaytara is thrilled to announce that 103 exceptional abstracts have been selected for presentation at the Summit on Cancer Health Disparities 2026 (SCHD26). Chosen from many record-breaking submissions spanning 32 countries across five continents, these presentations represent the most innovative research and interventions addressing cancer health equity today. These abstracts are set to be published in the International Journal of Cancer Care and Delivery in an upcoming supplemental issue.
A Global Showcase of Innovation in Cancer Care
The selected abstracts reflect the breadth and depth of current efforts to eliminate disparities in cancer care. Researchers from leading institutions, including Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center, Oregon Health & Science University, and Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center, will present groundbreaking work on treatment approaches for hard-to-treat cancers and novel models advancing precision oncology. International contributions span from the University of Yaoundé's efforts to bridge genomic gaps in Africa to the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences Lahore's investigations into innovative therapeutic approaches. Canadian researchers from McGill University will shed light on access to precision medicine, amongst many other topics.
The presentations encompass a wide range of topics, from examining racial disparities in clinical outcomes and treatment response to exploring telehealth solutions that expand access to specialized care. Investigators are tackling questions about therapeutic resistance, genomic characterization in underrepresented populations, and the real-world challenges of implementing cutting-edge diagnostics in resource-varied settings.
The Impact Pitch Opportunity: Selected Presenters Invited to Submit Research Proposals
First authors of accepted abstracts are invited to submit a research proposal to be considered for the Binaytara Implementation Science Research Award. Finalists will compete on stage at SCHD26 in a Shark Tank-style competition called the Impact Pitch. Each finalist will present their research projects to the live audience and an expert panel of judges. The audience and judges will vote for which projects win the award, which gives up to $25,000 to fund that research project. This award supports investigators focused on improving the delivery of evidence-based cancer care in real-world settings. This award is aligned with the Summit on Cancer Health Disparities (SCHD) and prioritizes projects that address access, equity, and delivery gaps across diverse populations. SCHD26 Abstract Review Committee Entailed A Rigorous Selection Process

Dr. Don Dizon, abstract committee co-chair and professor of medicine at Brown University
We spoke with members of the abstract review committee to learn more about this year's submissions. Dr. Don Dizon, the abstract committee co-chair, shared, "I am thankful that we had a very engaged committee that provided constructive input and made decisions on the merit of each individual abstract. Ultimately, the decisions were easy because of it. SCHD26 is a seminal meeting that tackles disparities in cancer care head-on. Clinicians should become more aware of the issues faced, regardless of where they live, but also walk away with a clearer understanding of what we are looking at to address them, and what is possible regardless of your access to resources."

Dr. Binay Shah, SCHD26 Conference Director and President of Binaytara
Dr. Binay Shah, the conference director, added, "This year's abstracts really stood out for their scientific rigor and their focus on improving access to cancer care. I was especially impressed by the innovative ways investigators are using AI and technology to tackle real-world challenges. Many of the selected studies offer practical insights that could directly influence clinical practice and patient care."

SCHD26 is Highlighting Research That Drives Change in Cancer Care
The selected abstracts represent blueprints for action in minimizing disparities in cancer care. From identifying barriers in treatment outcomes to developing practical interventions that work across different healthcare systems and resource settings, these abstracts have the potential to reshape how we deliver cancer care to the world's most vulnerable populations. The international scope of submissions underscores that health equity is a global imperative, requiring collaborative solutions that can be adapted and implemented across diverse contexts.
SCHD26 will provide a platform for these researchers to share their findings, exchange ideas, and forge partnerships that accelerate progress toward cancer health equity. We look forward to these important conversations in March 2026.
